PRINCE GEORGE – Since September police were investigating the suspicious death of an Army veteran, whose body was found in him home in 7000 block of Sandy Ridge Road on September 18.
Matthew Wallace, 26, was reported missing by police on Sept. 7 after family members expressed concern about his whereabouts and the fact that he needed medication. At the time police sent out a message that he had walked away from his home.
Prince George police spokeswoman Officer Alexis Grochmal explained that Wallace’s remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Officer.
Last week, Grochmal said the ME’s office determined the cause of death was hanging and determined to be a suicide.
She said the case was not yet closed, though the department was satisfied with the Medical Examiner’s findings and did not believe further investigation was required.
