Hopewell Police, Fire Department Arson Investigation to Holiday Tree

HOPEWELL – On Friday at 7:05 p.m., police officers were flagged down near the intersection of Arlington Road and Kolar Street by a passing motorist who advised that he had been shot. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile victim had sustained gunshot related injuries to one of his arms and to his torso.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene to render assistance and the victim was subsequently transported via med-flight to the VCU Medical Center for further treatment. The victim is currently listed in “stable” condition with non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the juvenile victim was with two companions in the area of New York Avenue and Waverly Street when the offender, attempted to rob them at gunpoint and then shot the victim. The two companions who witnessed the shooting were not injured and are cooperating with detectives.
