Harold Lloyd “Bud” Jones
Harold Lloyd “Bud” Jones, of Hopewell passed away on June 15, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Kathan K. Jones., his wife, Clara B. Jones, brothers, James Rudolph Jones and William M. Jones.
A veteran of the U. S. Navy, Bud served during the Korean War. He retired from the home building business and spent his time flying his airplane. Bud is survived by his sons, James R. Jones and wife Teresa of Prince George, Randall L. Jones and wife Mary Ann of Hopewell and daughter Katie Jones of Mechanicsville, three grandsons, Michael Jones and wife Mary of Hopewell, Brian Jones of Richmond, and James “Jay” Jones and wife Tara of Hopewell and granddaughter Sarah Michelle Jones of Independence, Va. Bud also leaves to cherish his memory five great-grandchildren and faithful employee and friend, William Latham.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the wonderful caregivers, especially Ms. Brooke Ezell, who tirelessly cared for Bud as he battled Alzheimer’s disease.
The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J, T, Morriss & Son Funeral Home, on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Appomattox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions be made to Hospice of Virginia, 7231 Forest Avenue, Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23226. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com
