History didn’t repeat itself when the Prince George Royals Varsity Baseball Team powered through the Godwin Eagles High School Baseball team and defeated them 7 to 2.
It felt like déjà vu. Last year, the Prince George Royals rolled into conference with a winning season, where they were pitted against the Godwin baseball team, last year that ended the season for the Royals. But this year the Royals powerhouse team powered through moving further in the 5A South Regionals.
Royal’s pitcher, Jonathon Walton held through 7 innings against the Eagles, with 7 strike-outs, 0 earned runs against him, a pitch count of 98 and 7 strike-outs.
Prince George’s lead was sprinkled out throughout the innings 2 in the 1st inning, 2 in the 3rd inning and 3 runs in the 5th inning. Justin Nase and Tevin Tucker each brought in 2 runs apiece for the Royals baseball team.
The Prince George continue forward in the 5a South Regionals with a 22 to 1 record.
