Potholes litter city pavement

The City of Hopewell began fixing potholes around the city on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
The Department of Public Works has identified the potholes around the city. They will be focusing on the main roads first and then they will focus on the residential areas.
Public Works had to wait a little while to start patching up the holes because of the recent inclement weather. Over the past two weeks the Tri-Cities area has received a significant amount of snow and rain, putting a halt to many outdoor activities.
They had to wait until the precipitation stopped, for the roads to dry and temperatures to rise. They also had to wait for the plant to manufacture enough asphalt to repair the potholes because the production of asphalt tends to go down in the winter. It is not known at this time when Public Works will finish fixing the potholes because how much work they can get done in a day is partly determined by the weather.
