Richmond – The Ghost Light After Party, an open-mic celebration of Broadway show tunes inspired by the vibrant cabaret scene that thrives today in the West Village of Manhattan, and will debut at Richmond Triangle Players on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 8 pm.
Hosted by Matt Shofner and Maggie Roop, The Ghost Light After Party provides a fun and social environment for Richmond theatre artists and enthusiasts to come together and unwind after the curtains have closed. Any and all lovers of musical theatre are invited to take the stage and croon a classic, belt out a tune of today or simply sit back, have a cocktail and enjoy! No audition--no rehearsal--just fly by the seat of your pants and have a ball!
Sandy Dacus will be featured on the keyboard. Featured guests for the evening are Daniel Cimo (recently seen at RTP in “[title of show]” and “Dirty Little Showtunes”), actress-singer Audra Honaker (Barskdale’s “Into the Woods”) and Robert Throckmorton (most recently in TheatreIV’s “A Year with Frog and Toad” and memorably at RTP in “Miss Gulch Returns!”) who will share some of their favorite tunes and face the challenge of musical theatre Mad Libs!
The Ghost Light After Party will debut at 8 pm on Sunday, Jan. 22, and will continue on future select Sundays. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased online at RTP’s web site at www.rtriangle.org or by calling the RTP Ticket hotline at (804)346-8113.
RTP’s theater at 1300 Altamont Ave. is a 4000-square foot performing arts facility accommodating flexible seating arrangements for up to 90 patrons. The building features fully ADA-compliant access and comfortable restrooms, as well as a generous bar, and is also available for cabaret performances and performance rentals.
