Motor Vehicle Crash Fatality

On September 6, 2012 at 12:37 pm, Hopewell Police responded to the intersection of Miles Avenue and Boston Street for the report of a crash involving two vehicles.
Mary T. Aultman, 81 years old of the 1300 Block of Central Avenue was traveling west on Boston Street and proceeded across Miles Avenue from the stop sign when her vehicle was struck by a 1988 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck that was traveling South on Miles Avenue with the right of way. Ms. Aultman who was not wearing a seatbelt was transported to Southside Regional Hospital and then transferred to VCU Medical Center. The driver of the Pickup was transported to an area hospital and was treated and released. No passengers were in either vehicle.
On September 11, 2012, Ms. Aultman succumbed to her injuries as a result of the motor vehicle crash. The accident is still under investigation. Any persons who may have witnessed this accident are asked to call Hopewell Police at (804) 541-2275.
