Men Arrested in Copper Wiring Theft

Two men were arrested for removing copper wiring from a secured area of property belonging to Dominion Virginia Power Sept. 29.
Officers responded to an alarm in the 1100 block of Hercules Rd. at 2:01 a.m. and discovered that the fence had been damaged and entry made into the secure area.
While searching the area, police found an all terrain vehicle that had been stolen from a local business loaded with copper wiring matching the wiring that was removed.
During their search, police also located the two offenders, Kendell Javon Bright, 22, of Hopewell, and Eric Grammer, 33, of Hopewell.
The two men were arrested and warrants for trespassing, vandalism, grand larceny and motor vehicle theft were executed on them.
Bright and Grammer were released, but a follow up investigation resulted on additional warrants on Grammer for grand larceny, destruction of property, trespassing and receiving stolen goods. According to police, all the charges are related to a string of copper wire thefts from the same location.
Police are searching for Grammer.
