“Share the Dream” Oscar Night was held in Petersburg on Sunday at the Union Train Station. The event was put on by The City of Petersburg, the Central Virginia Film Institute, and WRIC-TV8. This is Central Virginia Film Institute’s 7th year to be honored by the Academy as one of only 47 parties officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that will be held across the country on Oscar Night. “Lincoln,” which was shot mostly in Petersburg, won two Oscars after being nominated for 12. Daniel Day-Lewis won for best actor.
