HOPEWELL — Police say they found a large amount of drugs and a gun at the scene of a double shooting Wednesday night.
At around 10 p.m., police responded to the 2100 block of Cloverdale Ave., a few blocks east of Harry E. James Elementary School, for shots fired. Investigation revealed there were two victims who suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to John Randolph Medical Center for treatment. A large amount of narcotics and a firearm was found at the scene of the shooting.
A 17-year-old of Hopewell suffered a single gunshot wound to his right foot and Kevin Jones, 21, of Hopewell, suffered a single gunshot wound to his left arm.
Police Chief John Keohane posted a message on facebook.com that said people involved in the shooting are not cooperating, and police are concerned about retaliatory actions.
“They continue to be uncooperative therefore making it very difficult for us to make arrests and to progress in the investigation,” he said.
Keohane said there was also a rental vehicle left at the scene that is being processed.
