Arrest made in shooting

HOPEWELL ó On Friday afternoon around 2 p.m., the Hopewell Police Department received calls for shots fired in the 200 block of Eighth Street and Buren Avenue. When police arrived on scene, they did not find evidence of a shooting.
Lt. Rose Camacho said the police were able to make contact with the victim of the shooting, who was able to drive away in his vehicle from the scene on Friday.
According to Camacho, the shooting resulted from an ongoing incident between the juvenile shooter and the victim. The juvenile shot at the victimís car, hitting the windshield. The victim was able to drive away from the scene and no injures were reported.
Camacho said through contact with the victim, a suspect was able to be named in the shooting. Later that same day, an arrest was made and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was charged with unauthorized use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm and shooting into an occupied vehicle. The juvenile is currently being held at Crater Juvenile Detention Center in Disputanta.
