HOPEWELL — A Hopewell man who was shot by police and arrested after a high speed pursuit down Route 10 faces a charge of attempted capital murder, said commonwealth’s attorney Rick Newman.
On Sunday evening, around 5 p.m., Jonathan Landon, 31, intentionally rammed his truck into a police cruiser, in an attempt to elude the police after officers responded to his vehicle crashing into a building in the City Point area, according to authorities.
Police say Landon then tried to run over a second officer and crashed into a third officer’s vehicle. The pursuit stretched from the Beacon Theater in Hopewell in Chesterfield near Route 10 and Kingston Road, just west of Interstate 295.
Landon suffered a single gunshot wound to the arm, however his injuries were not life threatening, authorities said.
