History Night at JEJ Moore Middle School

BLAKE BELDEN/HOPEWELL NEWS/NEWS-PATRIOT Representatives from Pamplin Park demonstrated life during the Civil War to students.

PRINCE GEORGE — JEJ Moore Middle School hosted their second annual History Night on Tuesday, where more than 10 historical sites and museums from the area gathered at the school to showcase a piece of history through various exhibits.

Through the event, students from the middle school were given a chance for extra credit simply by attending.

“It’s the best time you’ll ever” have earning extra credit, said Mary Massey, a JEJ Moore Middle School teacher who helped organize the event.

Representatives came from all sorts of local organizations including the Petersburg Museums, Agecroft Hall, the Fort Lee Archaeological Society, the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, the Prince George Historical Society, the Women’s Army Museum and more.

The cafeteria was also filled with historical projects created by students.
