COLONIAL HEIGHTS — Fire crews were called to three fires within a few minutes early Monday morning.

On April 7 at 12:09 a.m. the fire department was called to Flora M. Hill Park at Richmond Avenue and Lafayette Avenue for a trash can on fire.  The fire damaged the trash can and some plastic barriers for the playground mulch.

While at the scene of the trash can, they were called to Hanover Avenue and Cambridge Place for a vehicle fire at 12:19 a.m.

The police supervisor at 12:20 a.m. discovered a traffic cone on fire on Royal Oak between Jefferson Avenue and Washington Avenue.

All the fires were quickly extinguished.  An investigation could not find any accidental causes for the trash can or traffic cone.  The vehicle fire cause is pending further investigation.

At this time if anyone have any information they are asked to contact the Colonial Heights Fire Marshal’s Office 804-520-9376 or boisseauj@colonialheightsva.gov or Chesterfield / Colonial Heights Crime Solvers at 804-748-1278 or www.crimesolvers.net.
