Three charged in carjacking attempt

COLONIAL HEIGHTS — The Colonial Heights Police Department has arrested three suspects in connection with an attempted carjacking of a local pizza delivery driver that occurred on Nov. 10.
The suspects were identified with the help of the community after the suspects‚ photographs were featured in newspapers, television and social media.
Police say Devonte Alexander Jones, 21,of Colonial Heights, Kenny Rymale Williams, 20, of Petersburg, and Garon Cummings Nedrick, 22, of Petersburg, were charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and incarcerated at Riverside Regional Jail.
Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers sent out a notice to media on April 7.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Nov. 10, a delivery driver was taking an order to an address on Beechwood Avenue in Colonial Heights. As he exited his car, he was immediately approached by a man who put a gun to his head and demanded his car keys. Police say the victim made a dangerous move and grabbed the gun, forcing it downward, while he struck the gun-wielding suspect. The victim then ran from the scene and called police.
One suspect was later arrested, but three other suspects were being sought. Investigators were only initially provided the names and nicknames of “Kenny,” “Garren” or “G,” and “Man-man.” “Man-man” was rumored to have music or voice recording equipment at his home. “Garren” drove an older model, white Dodge king-cab pickup with a wide burgundy stripe.
