COLONIAL HEIGHTS — A coordinated investigative effort led to the arrest of 10 men for the solicitation of prostitution in Colonial Heights on April 28, according to Sgt. Rob Ruxer with the Colonial Heights Police Department.

Although Ruxer could not go into great detail about the specifics of the operation, he said that it was part of an ongoing operation to deter acts of prostitution from taking place in Colonial Heights.

“Through investigation we had learned of instances like this, of prostitution, happening within our city, and we wanted to get out in front of it and be proactive about enforcing it,” Ruxer said.

All of the men arrested are not residents of Colonial Heights and traveled from out of town.

Although prostitution is not a largely prevalent occurrence in the city, Ruxer said that it does happen, therefore the operation aims to send a message that authorities will not tolerate it.

Ruxer said that these were not instances of prostitution that occurred on the street, but were instigated through covert, online operations.

The operation has been coordinated by the Special Operations Unit within the Colonial Heights Police Department in conjunction with the Prince George Police Department, Ruxer said.

The 10 people who were arrested for the solicitation of prostitution on April 28 are:

• Quamane R. Allen, 24, of Petersburg

• Darrell Jackson, 27, of Richmond

• Ashley D. Krigger, 27, of Henrico

• Donelle Rayvon Meekins, 32, of Chesterfield
