Man is shot in face

CHESTERFIELD — A man was shot in the face and neck Saturday and his brother was taken into custody, police said.
Police responded to 7443 Hickory Road, in the far southern end of the county, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Saturday to investigate a shooting.
Upon arrival they found the 23-year-old resident with a gunshot wound to his face and neck. Also, present at the residence was the victim’s 26-year-old brother who surrendered to police and was taken into custody. The younger brother was conscious and talking with police officers. He was taken for treatment to Virginia Commonwealth Medical Center in Richmond. Police said the younger brother’s condition is not known at this time, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No charges have been placed at this time.
Police said the exact cause of this incident is not known but appears to be domestic related. This incident is currently under investigation.
