Suspect wanted in shooting

HOPEWELL -- At 11 p.m. July 2, police officers responded to the 400 block of South 21st Avenue for a report of shots fired.
As officers were canvassing the area, a 17-year-old male victim arrived at John Randolph Medical Center with a single gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was treated and released.
Police say Karl E. White, 20, of Hopewell, has been charged in the incident. Police say the victim and offender are acquaintances, and the shooting is the result of an ongoing dispute.
Karl E. White is currently wanted by the Hopewell Police Department for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in a public place, and possession of firearm by convicted felon. He is a black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
