Man killed in Hopewell

HOPEWELL -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night in the southwest end of the city.
On Saturday, Aug. 9, at approximately 9:53 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Nottingham Court for a report of shots being fired. The street is in the Canterbury Townhouses apartment complex not far from Interstate 295 and Oaklawn Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim in his residence with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to John Randolph Medical Center where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Calvin A. Brothers, 29, of the 500 block of Nottingham Court, Hopewell. Based on the investigation, it does not appear to be a random act.
