Jasper (Jay) William Huff Jr.
Jasper (Jay) William Huff, Jr., 80, of 101 Millstead Way, widower of Patricia Rogers Huff, died Nov. 18, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Gary, West Virginia, Jay was the son of the late Jasper William Huff Sr. and Cora Hunley Huff. He was an alumnus of Gary High School, Concord College in Athens, W.Va. and received his master’s degree from the University of Virginia. Jay was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran, a retired teacher with the Greenville County School System and a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Huff Garrison of Missouri City, Texas and Karen Huff Waldrep of Fountain Inn, S.C.; two sons, Roger Huff of Okazaki-Shi, Japan and Jay W. Huff, III of Greenville, S.C. and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Park Chapel of Remembrance and will be conducted by Dr. Harry Workman. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held noon – 1 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Park Chapel of Remembrance.
The families are at their respective homes.

Barbara Taylor Puryear
Barbara Taylor Puryear, 73, of Hopewell passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Kathryne Dover Taylor and brother, Jerry William Taylor.
She was retired from the Social Services Department, previously employed at the Hopewell News, and a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Jeff Puryear of Troy, Va.; Craig Puryear of Varina, Va.; and Brad Puryear of Hopewell, Va.; daughter, Kelli Wingard of Adah, PA; six grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Patricia T. Martin of Chesterfield, Va. and Kay T. Rittenhouse of Martinsville, Va.; and two very special friends, Gloria Andrs of Chester, Va. and Annie Mae Martin of Richmond, Va.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted (today) at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Lorraine Howard officiating.
Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
